"Design became
the place where
creativity and structure met, and that balance still drives me.
"
I’ve been making things for as long as I can remember — even before I knew “design” was a real job. In middle school, I was that kid camped out by the Xerox machine, layering images and text because I didn’t have a computer yet. I didn’t know the word design, but I definitely knew the feeling of wanting to shape ideas visually.
High school opened the door for real: offset printing, screen printing, and my first Mac. I quickly learned that while I love fine art, I’m much better at organizing information, building systems, and telling stories through type and layout. Design became the place where creativity and structure met, and that balance still drives me.
My career started in a small ad agency studio where I raised my hand for everything and soaked up as much as possible. Then I moved in‑house to a tiny marketing team at what was then a College of Nursing — not realizing it would grow into the largest nursing program in the country. As the college became a university, I shifted from hands‑on design into strategy, team leadership, and brand stewardship. I helped build brand systems, managed designers and vendors, and supported rapid growth.
One of my favorite chapters was bringing the brand into physical spaces. I worked with real estate, interior designers, and architects to carry the brand into classrooms and campuses as we expanded from 5 locations to 25. Around the same time, I supported the corporate rebrand from DeVry Inc. to Adtalem, helping align institutional and parent‑company identities during a major shift toward healthcare education.
Today, I’m a design leader who loves solving problems, shaping stories, and making ideas real — especially when it involves building systems that help teams do their best work.
Outside of work, you might find me tasting whiskey, soaking up the sun on our patio, or attempting to cook something ambitious. My family and I are always up for an adventure — camping, cruising, or road‑tripping our way toward all 50 states.
If you’re here to get a sense of how I think and lead, welcome. The portfolio shows the work; this part is the person behind it.
